Time Entry Export to MyCase
Once the organization has set up the billing code integration, each individual user should set up their individual user integration. This will allow the users to release their time to MyCase.
If there are no errors connecting the user integration, it will now look like this:
When you are ready to review and release your time, head to your dashboard and make sure you have some approved entries for that day. The click the "Release to MyCase" button to send all approved time entries to MyCase.
You'll see a confirmation pop-up. Click "Release" to send your time:
Once your time entries have been successfully released to MyCase, they will be locked in the Billables dashboard and any further edits will need to be made in MyCase.
You'll see your released time entries in MyCase under the "Time Entries" tab:
FAQs
Why can't I enable my MyCase billing integration?
If your org's MyCase integration has not been set up, you will not be able to authorize your individual integration. Please see this article for instructions on how an admin can authorize MyCase for the org.
Why am I getting an error connecting to provider?
Your MyCase account, Billables account and Microsoft/Google account should all have the same email in order to sync properly.
To update your MyCase email, see the following instructions:
-
Go to Settings by clicking your name on the top right of MyCase
-
In the left-hand menu, under the Personal > My Profile section, click on Update Email.
-
Enter your current MyCase password
-
Update the Email field to the new email address that you'd like to use to access MyCase.
Will my UTBMS or LEDES codes export from Billables AI to MyCase?
MyCase does not support sending UTBMS (or LEDES) codes via their integration, so any activity/task codes assigned in Billables will not automatically be sent to MyCase. We have discussed this with the MyCase team and it is something they may offer in the future, but it is not supported at this time. Please reach out to your MyCase representative for more information.
In the meantime, below are two potential workarounds if UTBMS codes are required for your firm:
-
Continue to export time entries from Billables to MyCase and manually update the exported time entries in MyCase with the right UTBMS codes after export
-
Use Activity Categories in MyCase instead of the UTBMS/LEDES fields.
-
Manually download a MyCase-formatted CSV file and import into MyCase using their bulk import method. This approach won't show which entries have already been exported and will not carry through matter specific billing rates.
