Rounded vs. Raw Time for Merged Entries

Control how merged time entries are calculated using raw or rounded time

Billables AI gives you control over how time is calculated when multiple time entries are merged. You can choose whether merged entries use raw time or rounded time, depending on how you want your work represented.

What’s the Difference?

Raw Time

Raw time reflects the exact duration of your activity, calculated down to the minute. This option preserves the most accurate record of how long you worked across merged entries.

Rounded Time

Rounded time applies your firm’s rounding rules (such as 0.1-hour increments) to each individual entry before they are merged. This can align merged entries with firm or client billing standards.

Default Behavior

Raw time will soon become the default setting for all merged time entries. This ensures merged entries reflect precise activity duration unless you choose otherwise.

How to Change Your Preference

You can update this setting at any time:

  1. Go to Settings in Billables AI

  2. Find the Narrative Description Settings section

  3. Select Raw Time or Rounded Time

  4. Save your changes

Your selection will apply to future merged entries.
